Wilmer-Hutchins E-TECH will enable students to explore a wide range of career interests in the fields of energy and construction technology.

A curriculum focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with an emphasis in energy and construction technology will challenge students to discover solutions to real-world challenges. Students will have the opportunity to develop the skills and experience to explore and design creative solutions, acquire the communication, teamwork and problem-solving sills that are necessary for success in the 21st century workplace in the field of construction technology or energy management.

Students who opt to pursue the Associate of Science track will have the opportunity to develop the skills and experience to establish a foundation upon which to pursue a bachelor’s level degree in Energy Management.

An emphasis in these careers will equip students to excel in one of the following pathways

  • Construction Technology is a hands-on construction program with both residential and commercial specializations. You’ll learn how to plan, organize, solve problems and communicate well in your building projects. You can prepare for an entry-level job in many construction areas. Or continue your education in a four-year program. Since you’ll have a foundation for other construction-related programs, you can try out various crafts to find the right fit. Career options include positions as field engineers, estimators, building inspectors, insurance and manufacturing representatives, field supervisors, subcontractors and builders. We offer commercial or residential specializations.
  •  Associate of Science: (FOS) Field of Study in Business Transferrable to Business Administration with emphasis in Energy Management degree. The Management Associate of Applied Science Degree is a flexible offering of business courses. Students will learn practical management skills in the areas of goal setting, leadership, problem solving, human resources, and team building. These are skills required of successful employees, not just managers. By acquiring and applying knowledge in this field, students enhance their visibility and marketability on the job while demonstrating their capability of accepting new challenges.
